So that was definitely a good day :D Two of the layouts accepted by SC are in the previous blog post - "luv u" and also "beautiful". If you scroll further down the page you will also see "laugh" and also "besties" ... these were also picked up by SC. How awesome!

This forced me to update the listings of upcoming and previous layouts in magazines and I cant believe it but now I have eleven layouts in upcoming mags. Im in the next 4 issues of FK!!! I guess Id better go get a subscription now! :)

Thanks to the girls who came along to the "Please Santa" class at Crafting in Style on Sunday night. We did the following layout:

eeep Im such a norty blogger!

truth be told - I went into Mackay or a week for a holiday and since I got back the kids have been sick and I have been slack!! So that is my reasons :D I cant believe its been nearly a month. If it wasnt for forums people would have thought Id fallen off the face of the earth!

Something exciting this month! I have a layout in the current SC that I had forgotten about. So that is a nice surprise :) I think its on page 112.

Here are some of the layouts Ive been working on during November.

The following layout was for a sketch challenge at a CC. But it wasnt close enough to the sketch so I had to redo it. I got a bit carried away :D

This next layout is the remake of the previous one .... this time you can actually see the sketch design! haha. Im not too keen on the papers used in this layout but its the only papers I had that were only pink and white - the other challenge criteria.

This next one is using a photo of me, brianna and my mum but its BLURRY!!! so frustrating cos we are all smiling and looking at the camera - very hard to do!!! The layout was taught in a class by the wonderfully talented Marni Telford.

I love this layout! i tried a few new things with this. marni has inspired me to be more creative with my layout shapes so for this i got 3 strips of paper and glued them together. this made my layout be not exactly square. u can see the cream paper is up at the bottom and at the top. lots of distressing and sewing and even a bit of paper piecing! this is based roughly on a becky fleck sketch.

Over at Crafting in Style Ive started a 10 week stamping inspiration course! If you are anything like me, you have bought a fair few acrylic stamps and while you use them sometimes you are SURE u can more out of those gorgeous little things! More techniques, more ideas, more inspiration!!! So starting this week we are going to be getting down and dirty in the Tips & Techniques section of the CIS forums. There will be paint, ink, felt, fabric, paper (i cant give too much else away!) flying left right and centre ... making a massive creative mess!!!!!

The stamping technique focused on this week is stamping on cardstock and then colourising with crayons/pens/watercolours/coloured pencils!!! You can check out more about this in this thread.

Here is the first example I created:
I stamped a AL journalling stamp, then blended a light green around the edges with coloured pencil, then added a chipboard title and topped it off with a hambly overlay!!!

Here is my second example (this layout was also done for a CC at Chookscraps):
For these stamped images i stamped with umber versacube, then doodled over the top with a zig marker, then highlighted the flowers/butterfly with colouring pencils. the butterfly is handdrawn.

And here is one last layout I have done! This was also for the Chookscraps CC. ive tried to portray how agitated i can be sometimes by the scratchiness of the doodling over the blue alpha stickers, the stitching around the tab folder, and also how ive gone over my journalling a few times.

Phew thats alot of layouts to upload at once. Ill be my normal blogger self now :D

Once last reminder. Dont forget the class im teaching this sunday at Crafting in Style! We are doing a Christmas layout so get in the festive mood!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Busy like a bee!!!

Ive been busy as a bee working through my scrapping todo list!

CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR SCRAPBOOK'N'BITS:

Firstly Id like to share a Christmas card I made for Scrapbook'n'bits with some stamps I recieved from them. they were groovy little stamp sets that retail for about $4 each i think? very cute and very cheap!!! just the way i like them ;)

This is just one card of the seven I made. To view them all go to the forum here.

Inside the card:

To make the above card I cut two rectangles out of bazzill, inked them with blue then stapled them together along the top in a crisscross pattern. I then stamps the inside and out and decorated with silver kindyglitz - you cant have christmas cards without glitz!!!! haha. Lastly i tied some ribbon around the top and secured it with a very christmas looking bow!

STAR'S PREGNANCY MINIALBUM!

A friend of mine is about 10 weeks preggers and she has been suffering TERRIBLE morning sickness that lasts all night and all day. vomiting and diaohrria! poor poor girl! i really feel for her. she is getting quite down! so ive made her a little minialbum to hold a few photos of her growing belly and a spot to journal on!

Lots of colours and glitz to make her feel a bit cheerier!

Its made from a tag book that ive covered it with MME papers and decorated with BG rubons, green tara & prima flowers, ribbons, AC thickers, HS damask stickers (im obsessed with these!), paint and lots of silver kindyglitz!!!

there is one double page for each trimester.

20:40:60, Hula's layout, and a comp win!

How exciting!!!!!!! after getting my 5 publications last week I also got a call from Scrapbook Creations asking me to do a layout for their 20:40:60 segment!!!! YAYAYAY! im so super excited. I spoke to Donna and she said that I am down for the 20 minute one (should be no worries!). Im getting a kit sent to me which apparently is pretty big, and I get paid $50. so that is a bonus :D

The above is a layout i did yesterday about my new little neice Hula. She is such a cutie! Ive had that CI paper for awhile but was unsure how to use it. finally its out of my stash!!! :)

There is a new blog out called "Scrap the Stuff" and I entered their september comp and won :D yay!! I won a $40 paper pack so that is rockin!

And just quickly! Ive compiled my fav layouts that Ive created in 2007 in a blog post that you can find HERE! Its also now a link on the right in the navigation menu. Ill be updating this whenever I do a layout i adore. Cos I must admit i think some of my layouts are hohum! haha

i had a great day today!!

I went cropping today here at moranbah and it was soooo good to get out of the house without the kids. cos they have been sick lately ive felt as though ive had no time to myself! the top layout is the only one from the crop. the others i did earlier in the week. i did another LO at the crop but i dont like it so its not worth photographing :D

i did some REALLY wonky photographing of layouts - but no i have NOT had anything to drink tonight :D

{ are you happy mummy? }
brianna asks me this at least twice a day. most days its more like 4 times. its well known in my household that i am an emotional person! eg. i cry during sad tv shows especially. whenever something sad is on TV brianna turns to me and asks "are you happy mummy?" cos she is concerned ill cry. she hates it when i cry! so its so sweet!

the PP used here is Fancy Pants and its divine!! everyone has to get this PP to try it out! the colours are just gorgeous.

{ happiness }
This is for the second round at the Spring comp at scrapworld. this one was especially wonky so i had to do a white border LOL. love this LO! im having lots of fun with flowers atm.

{ they are my boys }
This is for the comp at Scraptastic Southwest and also 123scrapbook. I took this photo on fathers day! its a pretty bad pic of the LO sorry!

want some christmas cards with a TWIST?!?

Im making my christmas cards this year a bit different. normally cos i mass-produce i do really boring cards! but this year ive decided to do my cards for my friends with extra effort, then just buy store cards for those who i know will just throw them away in the bin!

So Im gonna work on these cards over the next 2 weeks and add the instructions here. They wont be your standard run-of-the-mill cards cos i have some unique ideas in mind. so make sure u check back in to grab ur free instructions :D if enough ppl grab them i might do instructions for my projects more often. we will have to wait and see!!

Here is a layout i did a week ago but didnt upload to my blog straight away cos i was on the wrong computer when i blogged!

Brianna looks so hideous in this photo. it makes me laugh so much!!! so i just HAD to scrap it! this lo is titled "LOL and be happy". im lovin super-bright colours at the moment so these BG papers were perfect!

Ive got another couple of layouts to share but I havent photographed them yet. norty me!

Have a great weekend :D im going croppin tomorrow! woohoo!!!

Cybercroping!!!!!!!!!

Here is one of the layouts i did for the CIS CC. im lovin this layout cos its something different for me. its so flowery! love it! for a new thing to try - scrunch up ur paper flowers and half spread them back out again before attaching to your layout. leave some petals folded and turned around to make them look more "wildflowery" :D

The Hambly Minialbum class is well underway on its first night :D we had a fabulous turnout! and its not too late to purchase it and do it later this week! check out the SnB website to make a last minute purchase :)

scrapjacked ngaire bartlem!

Here is the layout I did for this month's scrapjack. Ive also incorporated Liz's challenge at CIS to alter your photo. I altered it by distressing the edges, sewing on it, and added rubons.

I backed this layout onto chipboard. after doing that the other day im totally lovin it! i gotta try not to get myself into the habit of doing it too much cos ill get into a rutt :)

Here is the layout I jacked from Ngaire.

Wednesday, 5 September 2007

my mojo is back!!!

i just wanna scrap all day but brianna is sick :( poor little darling!

this is another layout for the Scrapbook'n'Bits design team. For details on the materials used go here. The new cherry arte papers are probably the best they have done. Im not normally a CherryArte fan but these and the new Morocco range are really nice!

Ive also done a layout for Crafting in Style lastnight and im just about busting at the seems to show u but im not allowed! another couple of weeks and i can share though :D

Some layouts! :)

I got my september kit from Scrapbook'n'bits and the Rouge de garance in it just screamed at me to get all 'urban'. im totally in the mood to scrap boy layouts!

Here is my nephew Baden at his 2nd birthday inventing a new sport - "extreme cake eating". I scrapped a double (shock horror!!!) and i used two sheets of chipboard as the back. loved this effect! ill be doing this alot now cos it just looked so fabbo with the urban look. painting and stitching also a must :D For details on the products used go here.

Dont ya just love that felt ribbon with the circle details!!!! im in love!

This one im not too keen on. i was in a drawing and colouring mood. this is something a bit different. for the border i turned a sheet of AL paper around then doodled/watercoloured. all the images on here are freehand drawn. the earth and rocket are raised on popdots.

TFL!!! cyas around :D
